"A MENINA QUE QUERIA SER DRAG QUEEN" é um espetáculo teatral curitibano,  que estreou dia 15 de abril de 1999 no Teatro José Maria Santos - Fundação Teatro Guaíra , Curitiba , Paraná, Brasil.

Empreendida e idealizada por Karyn Schwarz, produzida por Jefferson de Mello e dirigida por João Luiz Fiani, esta peça fez tanto sucesso, que realizou mais duas temporadas no Teatro Lala Schneider. Ao todo foram 68 apresentações com aproximadamente 9200 pessoas.

Uma garota que almeja um papel exclusivo de homens é a protagonista da peça, produzida pela SCHWARZ E MELLO Produções Artísticas.

Na história, Ana Maria é uma garota que trabalha no Cabaré Esmeralda, comandado pela Drag Queen "Meg Furacão". Entre as loucuras que acontecem no camarim e os Shows, a menina se vê num mundo mágico e divertido.  Ana Maria sonha um dia subir ao palco vestida como uma Drag Queen e fazer uma performace ao estilo das Drags.

A autora, a atriz Karyn Schwarz, se inspirou nos filmes “Priscilla, a Rainha do Deserto” e em “O Casamento de Muriel”. Ela já está idealizando e projetando a continuação "A MENINA QUE QUERIA SER DRAG QUEEN 2". 

“THE GIRL WHO WOULD LIKE TO BE A DRAG QUEEN”  is a theatre play which was performed in Curitiba, the capital of Paraná, a South Brazilian State. The first night was on April 15th1999, at José Maria Santos Theatre , of Guaira Theatre Foundation.

The play was written by Karyn Schwarz, produced by Jefferson de Mello and directed by João Luiz Fiani.The show had a pretty successful run, therefore had been reprised for two more periods in Lala Schneider theatre.The play was showing for 68 presentations, with a total of nearly 9200 spectators.

A girl who aims to play a male character is the protagonist of the piece, produced by SCHWARZ e MELLO Produções Artísticas (Art productions).

In the plot (story) Ana Maria is a girl who works at Emerald Cabaret, her boss was the Drag Queen "Hurricane Meg" . Into the madness happening from the dressing rooms to the shows, the girl enters in a magic amusing world.
Ana Maria wishes could get herself on stage dressed as a Drag Queen, playing in the Drag's style.

The play's authoress is the actress Karyn Schwarz, who has gotinspiration on the movies "The adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert" and "The Muriel's Wedding Marriage". She is already developing and planning the sequence “THE GIRL WHO WOULD LIKE TO BE A DRAG QUEEN 2” .
